Primary duties to update, edit and create daily and weekly articles, photo galleries and other feature and 'advertorial' content throughout the NWsource web site.

Fine Art photography - along with internet design, consulting and development - including writing, editing and illustration. Development of animation, audio and visual marketing material on a variety of internet media platforms.
9/87 - 8/99   Microsoft Corporation
My 12-year career at Microsoft covered many disciplines in design, illustration, new media authoring and web publishing, including product documentation, training, promotional and marketing material. Below is a brief listing of the roles that I've filled:
    WEB DESIGNER - Microsoft Press
Design and illustration of the Microsoft Press and ResourceLink web sites. Responsible for layout and illustration for home page, promotional and e-commerce sections and to provide training to senior Graphic Artists and Art Directors in web development issues, techniques and tools.
    WEB MEDIA AUTHOR - Windows/Internet Explorer Team
Responsible for design and development of a variety of digital media content for a weekly Internet publication feature. This included GIF animation, audio & video design for emerging streaming media platforms such as Netshow, Windows Media, Surround Video & QuickTime VR, along with HTML, DHTML and Java scripting.
    DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCER - Systems Division User Education
Responsible for illustration, photography, audio & video design and engineering for CBT and other online training products and prototypes for CD and Internet platforms, using Mac & Windows authoring tools, as well as multimedia content licensing and acquisition.
    PUBLISHING SYSTEMS DESIGN - Systems Division User Education
Provide art production tools development and graphics training support to design, production and international localization teams. Duties also include LAN and VSS administration supporting file handoff and source control management for internal production teams and outsourced vendors.
    GRAPHIC ARTIST - Systems Division User Education
Freelance technical illustration and documentation styles design and support implementing then-new desktop publishing systems. Evaluate, recommend and implement tools and processes for long document production and art department standards.
1/87 - 9/87   American Passage
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Developed their startup desktop publishing department, a promotional division of Seattle Filmworks. Primary responsibilities were the design and production of college directories, registration handbooks and collateral material using Ventura Publisher and Aldus Pagemaker, as well as supervising and training production staff.
8/86 - 12/86   Washington Magazine
GRAPHIC ARTIST
Typesetting, layout and production for the magazine, almanac and cookbook editions.
8/86 - 12/86   The Northwest Artpaper
DESIGNER
Freelance design and production of the Winter issues of this Seattle-based tabloid newspaper. Duties included typesetting, illustration, ad and graphics production using the Macintosh.
5/82 - 7/86   Stanford University Press
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Working for the typesetting shop, duties included editorial and ad layout, camerawork, illustration and design of special logos, photo spreads and graphics production for an 16-32 page daily newspaper, as well as other directories, manuals and newsletters. Responsible for contact with print vendors, delivery of mechanicals and press checks.
